Today there was a Court hearing in Philadelphia to designate the REGLAN lawsuits as a ”new” mass tort. The hearing was held in front of Judge Sandra Moss of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and after hearing arguments of the parties she ruled the Reglan cases would be designated as a new mass tort and that the cases would be consolidated for discovery. Currently, there are approximately 50 cases on file in Philadelphia with more being filed everyday. Philadelphia is a proper venue for the Reglan cases since the original brand name drug manufacturer was Wyeth Pharmaceuticals which has its home office located in Philadelphia.
The next status conference for the Reglan cases is to be held February 16th at 10:00 am.
